Have you always wanted to make Minecraft more realistic and immersive? Admittedly, the Vanilla version is a little lacking in terms of survival. All we have to do is eat an apple, or some bread, and our survival is assured for a while. Well, that can change considerably with the Dehydration mod.

Dehydration is a survival mod created by Globox_z, whose aim is to add the thirst system (hydration), which complicates the player's survival, adding a certain difficulty, at least at the start of the game. A thirst bar is added above the hunger bar. You need to stay hydrated on a regular basis to survive in Minecraft, and carry purified water with you at all times. This adds a significant degree of difficulty for players, and a lot of realism, which is really appreciated! It's an aspect that Minecraft sorely lacks, and it's great to have such a mod.

From the start of your game, you'll need to make the following items to ensure your survival and manage your thirst: a campfire to heat water, a bucket to collect water, a copper cauldron to place on the campfire and put the water inside, and a leather gourd to drink the purified water and take it with you wherever you go. You can also drink water from a wooden bowl. A bamboo pump is also available: it should be placed near a water source to pump the water and purify it directly. Note that a bucket must also be placed near the pump for it to work. This pump can be very handy depending on where you are, but requires bamboo and flagstones, resources we don't necessarily have at the start of the game.

Note that if you want to start a game with more ease, you can activate the bonus chest. Inside, you'll find items to help you manage your thirst. You can also modify the mod's configuration in your .minecraft config folder if you wish. There is a wiki available if you need even more details about the mod.

Dehydration is also compatible with the mods Motschen's Puddles and Environmentz.
