[Mod] Biome Spawn Point [1.16.5 - 1.21.5]

If you've always wanted to choose your starting biome when creating a new Minecraft world, the Biome Spawn Point mod is for you!

Biome Spawn Point was created by Serium and uses the same principles as the Biome Picker mod to make it easier for you to create a new Minecraft world. As we know, the game's algorithm causes most players to spawn in fairly basic biomes (classic forests, taiga, plains, etc.) and not in rare biomes like flowering or birch forests, for example. If you're like me and you've loved a particular biome, it can be difficult to spawn in that particular biome. You can spend hours searching without finding what you want, and that can be frustrating. The Biome Spawn Point mod changes this by giving you the ability to select the biome you want in Minecraft's options.

How does Spawn Biome Point work ?

To select your starting biome (the one at your spawn point) when creating a new world, simply locate the spawnbiomes.txt file in the config folder of your Minecraft file. To create this file, you must first launch the game and create a new world to activate the mod. Then, simply return to your Minecraft file and find the file in question.

Once inside (see the image below), you will find a list of all Minecraft biomes with an exclamation point in front of them. Simply remove the exclamation point before the name of the biome you want. When only one biome is selected, you have a 100% chance of spawning in that biome. If you have chosen two specific biomes (a flower forest and a sunflower plains, for example), you have a 50% chance of landing on one of them. Very useful.

Note that Spawn Biome Point is regularly updated, and is compatible with many terrain generation mods.

Installation guide

- Windows : To install Biome Spawn Point, you must first download and install one of the three APIs (Fabric – Forge – NeoForge). Once you've created your profile with the version of your choice, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard, type %appdata% in the search bar, and find your .minecraft folder. Once inside, locate the mods folder and drag Biome Spawn Point into it. Launch the game and check that everything is working properly.
