[Mod] More Vanilla Shields (1.18.2 - 1.21.1)
More Vanilla Shields is a mod that adds several new shields, in a balanced and diverse way, along with classic Minecraft ores.
MODSEQUIPMENT
The shield was an important addition to Minecraft, as it finally allowed us to properly protect ourselves against skeletons, and creepers in particular. It's also an important tactical aspect for PVP servers. While the use of the shield is very much appreciated by the community, it would have been nice to add more, simply to improve its effectiveness and long-term durability, using the game's main ores like gold, diamond, or netherite. This is what the More Vanilla Shields mod offers.
Diamond Shield
Created by Rajhab, More Vanilla Shields aims to simply add new shields while maintaining Minecraft's vanilla style, that is, using certain classic resources. Forget the single iron shield; you can now craft a shield out of gold, emerald, and even amethyst! This not only increases the shield's durability, but also diversifies the resources used.
The recipe is exactly the same as for the iron shield. You just need to replace the metal ingot with the ore or resource you want. You can find the recipe below, or alternatively, with JEI or the Minecraft recipe book.

Installation Guide
- Windows : To install More Vanilla Shields, you must first download and install one of the three APIs (Fabric – Forge – NeoForge). Once your profile is created with the version of your choice, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard, type %appdata% in the search bar, and locate your .minecraft folder. Once inside, locate the mods folder and drag More Vanilla Shields into it. Launch the game and check that everything is working properly.
You can now enjoy a whole new set of shields, just for you.
