Animals in Minecraft are one of the most important aspects of the game because they bring the environment and biomes to life, and can also provide players with the resources they need to survive. While new animals have been added with each update (such as goats, llamas, dolphins, etc.), Minecraft's environment has been severely lacking in life for a long time now. Only a few mods address this major problem, including Untitled Duck Mod, which adds ducks and geese to bring more life to the game's biomes.
Untitled Duck Mod was created by Okabintaro and adds ducks and geese to Minecraft to bring more life to the overworld. The game has evolved and changed significantly since its creation in the 2010s, but one of its major flaws is the lack of natural life in the environment. Forests are empty and have no birds or other animals for example, while this should be essential to enrich and bring a touch of realism to Minecraft biomes, and thus make immersion much more important for players. This mod therefore adds two animals that we would like to have in our worlds, and it is very appreciable. We must admit, seeing ducks and geese in a lake, or a river when exploring biomes is very enriching. They also have interesting characteristics, geese in particular, which you will find in the list below.
Main Features
Ducks :
- Can be bred with seeds, and they lay eggs and drop feathers, like chickens.
- They also like to swim in the water, groom themselves, and dip their head into the water sometimes.
- They can be found on grass too.
- They dance when there is a music disc playing nearby. For more fun.
You can also craft a duck sack and use it to transport your ducks, like a bucket fish.
Goose :
- They can be bred with seeds, like ducks.
- They love kelp and seagrass, so you can use these to tame them.
- Once tamed, you can sit them down, and give them some weapons.
- They will try to attack you, or defend you like dogs.
- Geese defend themselves. So, if you attack one of them, they will remember and fight you in groups. They can forgive you, when you give them food (right-clicking), or throwing it to them.
- They will scare away illager, like cats with creepers.
- Sometimes, they can try to steal the item in your hand ! You can make an exchange that with food, because you don’t want to kill them (they are too kind!).
If you kill a goose (but you don’t want that), a goose foot will drop. This can be used to brew a potion of intimidation that scares illagers away (only in survival).
Please note that Untitled Duck Mod is regularly updated with improvements, so be sure to check back from time to time, depending on your version, to take advantage of the latest features.
